The Top 5 Fashion Frustrations Facing Women In Their Forties and Fifties

Make sure that you read to the end of this post to find out about my brand new, FREE Masterclass which is called

“The 3 Behind The Scenes Secrets To A Well Co-ordinated and Well Curated Capsule Wardrobe”

where I am going to dive deep into creating the perfect Capsule Wardrobe for you!

Hello! How are you all? I hope that you are having a great week!

In the 10 years that I have been styling women, I have identified many issues relating to our confidence, and our emotions, which arise from our relationship with our clothes.  Virtually all of my clients, and many of the women that contact me via email, or Instagram, or through Style Guile,  seem to encounter at least some of these issues at some point in their life.

Before even thinking about developing our style moving forwards, it is really important to identify the problems that we can encounter right at this point in time. Once those are resolved the world is, literally, our (fashion) oyster.

In this blog post I wanted to share with you the “Top 5 Fashion Frustrations Facing Women In Their Forties & Their Fifties” so here goes with what  some of the lovely ladies that I’ve worked with, and spoken to, have said:

1.I’ve lost my way! : Over the years I have watched myself veer away from  my femininity. Due to having children and due to working in a school, where practical clothing is required, I’ve moved to being comfortable in a sort of “that will do” way, rather than an “I LOVE THAT” way and I just don’t know where to start to fix it. Sometimes I buy something new and I love it for a while but then I catch sight of myself in a shop window and I think that I look terrible!

2. I have a bit of everything, so nothing works together – Another lady told me that she loved clothes but that these days she enjoyed choosing them for her friends and family more than for herself. She’s unsure of her style and whilst she tends to have a little bit of everything, her Wardrobe is lacking cohesion and co-ordination.

3. I don’t understand the rules anymore : Another lady said “I never know what to wear to go out for the evening.  I might be going to a nice restaurant, for drinks or to see some live music. However, there seem to be so few rules now that I struggle to know what to wear. Sometimes I prefer not to go at all, rather than decide on an outfit which might not be right.”

4.My clothes are boring: And then there was the lady who said “My clothes are boring and repetitive. I just wear the same jeans, t-shirts and blazers. I am looking for variety within my lifestyle but I don’t know where to start. I don’t know which styles or shapes of clothing suit me, which brands to shop at or how to put outfits together.”

5. I’m overwhelmed by the shops: And finally the lady who said “I get overwhelmed by the volume and quantity of what’s in the shops and so I just come out again.  Or I go to John Lewis or M&S and I buy one top in 5 different colours. Boden did a vest top but they’ve stopped doing it now. I’m dreading when they die!”

Imagine what it would feel like if you no longer had to worry about which invitation was going to pop into your inbox and what you were going to wear. Or imagine if you had two or three perfect outfits to choose from for EVERY occasion – whether that was going out with your friends, going to family events, relaxing at home or “dress down Friday” at work.

If you’re nodding your head in agreement at any of the Fashion Frustrations that I outlined above, or if you like the sound of never having to worry again about what to wear, I have a FREE live Masterclass coming up in just a few days and you won’t want to miss it.
