Sadly I am two thirds of the way through my three month collaboration with Baukjen and this month, I chose some pieces which will see me well into the winter and beyond. There’s the start of that autumnal chill in the air – a feeling which historically signalled the arrival of new clothes in the form of a new school uniform. But now, it appears in the form of a few new transitional pieces.

An alternative to jeans…

I must admit to not being that great when it comes to wearing trousers that aren’t jeans. I tend to find tailored trousers too smart, cigarette pants too limiting in terms of styling, track pants too casual unless at home and heavier wool trousers too itchy.

So I chose the Myra cargo pant, which are comprised of 97% cotton and 3% elastane, which is great for those who prefer their clothes to be made of natural fibres. The elastane offers that support and stretch which makes Baukjen trousers so comfortable. Their high rise really helps for those who, like me, have quite a long body. I first wore these to a book launch last week and I was really comfortable in them even after I’d been sitting down in them for over an hour. That’s a win win in my book (excuse the pun!)

We’re definitely seeing more cargo pants around and these are great now but come the winter, they will work so well with a chunky jumper and biker boots.

A fabulous alternative to silk!

I styled the Myra trousers with the Ellen Safari Shirt (£99) which is made of one of my favourite fabrics – lyocell. It’s derived from natural sources and it’s soft and drapey but heavier than silk so it hangs really well. This shirt can have pieces layered under, or over, it – depending on how chilly you get and how soon it happens!

Finn trousers (£99)  and the Eleanor shirt (£79)

Another alternative to jeans!

I also chose the Finn trousers (£99) this month. They also have a comfortable composition of 97% cotton and 3% elastane as well as that high rise that I’m such a fan of! I wore these to drive to London and back today and they were sooo comfortable. They have a little width at the hem, which means that they will be able to take a chunky boot under them in the winter. I’ve just rolled these up to get the look that I like and most of us can manage an ankle flash until the cold weather really hits!

A gorgous top that all women should own!

The Eleanor blouse  never fails to disappoint. It’s made of Baukjen’s famous premium jersey which is 95% viscose and 5% elastane, making it breathable, comfortable and hard wearing all at the same time. It comes in white, black and navy and I love that it feels like an everyday long sleeved top, whilst having the style of something more much sophisticated. I think that all women should have a top like this in their wardrobe!

Marte hoodie (£79)

An essential hoodie…

A hoodie is great for layering at this time of year. The Marte hoodie in peach has a lovely warm colour about it and it will work really well with all the camel that we are seeing coming through this season. The composition of 96% cotton and 4% elastane is really popular and it also comes in grey and navy for those who prefer darker colours. My favourite way to wear a hoodie is in a juxtaposition kind of way, rather than in an obvious uber relaxed type of way – so under a smarter wool winter coat, or with skinny jeans and heels, or with a wide smart trouser (as long as they’re not too smart. The  palazzo wide leg trouser would be great for this.)

I hope that you enjoyed the selection of pieces that I chose for this month’s collaboration with Baukjen and that you can see how they might work in your own lives. Don’t forget that there’s a 20% discount just for you with the code BG20AW and if you would like to, you can read more about Baukjen’s sutainablility policy here

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you soon!
