So let’s talk MONAT hair care. I mean, we all have hair don’t we? And sometimes it’s in places that we would rather not have it – but the hair on our head, our crowning glory, the stuff that we invest time, money and emotion in – well, it doesn’t always play ball does it?
So let’s rewind a few weeks. In fact about 3 months, when I was talking to my hairdresser about the shampoo that I used. She said to me “You do know, that what you’re really putting on your hair is Fairy Liquid but with a nice smell to it don’t you?” And I just remembered thinking “eughhh!”
So when a few weeks later I received an email out of the blue from two American ladies who were visiting Manchester, and who wanted to talk to me about a USA haircare brand that was due to launch in the UK, I didn’t think that it would harm to meet for a chat. I mean, I was just flattered that someone would travel to Birmingham to meet with me!
We met on a really cold April day. I suspect that they wondered what had hit them. It was freezing and they live in the desert, the service at the hotel we went to was terrible, to them I probably had a weird accent and in comparison to the upbeat and positive American approach, I’m sure that everyone seemed really, really miserable!
But whilst everything that they saw and heard probably felt like they were on another planet, what they said to me about MONAT products made perfect sense.
Oh hello to a haircare range that is naturally based, and which does not contain sulphates, parabens, harsh salt systems, phthalates, PEG, DEA/MEA harmful colours or harmful fragrances. (I can’t pretend that I understand ALL of that!) It’s also not tested on animals and it’s suitable for vegans (yep, I get that!) A “clean” haircare range no less, which has three systems – one for hydration, one for volume and an intense one for repair and regrowth. There’s also a leave in conditioner, a dry shampoo and many styling products.
MONAT “Let it grow” system
MONAT has had great results on women who have thinning hair as a result of the menopause or having had a baby, or who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment, or who have dry, damaged, or hard to control hair.
So pretty much on the spot, I decided to Partner with them.
MONAT “Volume System”
Whilst there is the opportunity to turn the Partnership into a full time business, what I’m really interested in is helping women who have issues that so far, other products haven’t been able to resolve. I absolutely love hearing success stories!
So slowly, I’ve been letting my friends and family have samples to try. People with super curly, or super frizzy, or very dry or thinning hair. And they have unanimously loved them.
MONAT hydration system
I’ve now been using the products for about 8 weeks and I wouldn’t use anything else (MONAT don’t do hair dyes though, so that’s a different matter!)
My hair now feels like it did when I was 19. When it was too soft and shiny to stay in any kind of “up” do. I love using it on our youngest and my husband and son use the men’s range (a 2:1 shampoo) which is also fab and great if you’re on the go.
I’ve also been using (on one eye only) the eyelash serum. This has resulted in one eye having significantly more eyelashes than the other but hey, I wanted to see if it worked. And the Rejuevenique oil can be used on the hair to de-frizz it, whilst on the skin and scalp it’s had great results with people who have psoriasis.
MONAT Rejuvenique oil
For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my post about MONAT yesterday. There definitely seems to be a demand out there for a haircare brand like this and I’ve loved packaging up samples for people to try.
In terms of how to buy the products, they aren’t sold retail (so there’s no paying for floor space in expensive stores, advertising in glossy mags, or staff salaries) and they are only available through Partners (like me). Also, just to be clear, in the same way that brands pay bloggers a commission through affiliate programmes, it’s exactly the same with MONAT. So if any of you do make a purchase through me, I will benefit from it which, if I’m honest, I kind of feel slightly uncomfortable about but there’s no way around that.
So if you’ve tried any of the products, I’d love to know what you think. If any of you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them. And if anyone would like to try a sample or two, I’m happy to see what I can do for you. Or if anyone just wants to go ahead and buy something, this is the place to do it! Do let me know how you find them!
One of the best things about MONAT is that there is a facebook page of Monat Hair Testimonies which is a closed group but if you would like me to send you a friend request, I can then join you to it. There are some amazing before and after photos and it’s possible to search the page by topics, such as Psoriasis, Alopecia, Thinning Hairline, Curly hair and so on – so whatever your issue, you can see people who’ve been there before.
Until next time!
