In the navy now: Loving these boots from Whistles

Recently, and I can’t remember who they were (sorry), but I have had a few people ask me where they can find navy boots and navy shoes. In a way it’s a little bit odd that navy footwear isn’t more readily available, given that navy clothes are so easy to come by.

So, when I saw these Kir Royale Suede boots (£150) in Whistles, I knew that they would appeal to many. They are a great style, a great colour with a great heel height.  I have no doubt that in the fullness of time a Whistles voucher will appear in Grazia – so that may be worth holding out for. As to why they are called Kir Royale I have no idea. Mine never look this colour.

As part of my research (and just to make sure that I wasn’t talking utter nonsense when I said that navy footwear was hard to come by) I came across this Aleen PA court shoe from Dune (£65).

With an 8cm high heel, they may be on the high side but M&S usually has a couple of styles with a slightly lower heel. I know, I should do further research and bring you the photos of them too but I just don’t have the will to navigate the M&S website tonight – it can be soul destroying at times.  Also the film “The Holiday” is on TV and I like seeing Cameron Diaz looking fantastic in pale coloured cashmere whereas, as I think I have mentioned on here before, I would just look like a lumpy marshmallow.

I've just bought some lovely navy patent loafers in the M&S sale – similar to your Hobbs ones but only £25! Sadly they don't seem to be on the website, but there may be some left in the stores…

I love the Kir Royale boots – I had my eye on them just before Christmas but they sold out online really fast as there was a Grazia voucher as you mentioned at the time and I think everyone must have made the most of it on the boots! I tried them on in store the other week – love!

Love the boots! But then I've always loved suede and I've always loved ankle boots, so match made in heaven 🙂

Be interested to see how your navy shoe search goes. I'm struggling. Quite like the Dune ones but the heel is one of those skimpy ones set right to the back of the heel. To me, they look slightly like they are going to bend backwards! Looks a bit odd. LK Bennett do quite a nice navy court, similar to above but £95 (in sale down from £170)and the Sybila in either platform or court style at £125 down from £190. If you come across any less pricey versions I'd love to know. John Lewis also had a really nice (quite high, nice shaped heel) pair of navy patent courts in today (sale…£35) but they were peep toe and not what I wanted.

Boden has loads of navy shoes in the new Spring collection which has just gone online. There's a gorgeous pair of suede ankle boots, some high strappy sandals and they've still got navy suede brogues from winter, which I bought and are lovely and really comfy. Think there's some simple slingbacks as well. It's definitely worth a look, especially as they usually offer a decent discount when they send the catalogues out.
